I met Jen a few months back via our blogs… or facebook… or somewhere “out there”. One of the best things about discovering photography is the other photographers I’ve been meeting and becoming friends with. Talking with someone who understands this absolutely crazy obsession keeps me grounded, motivated, and sane. I think my family and non-photog friends appreciate it too. I’m pretty sure one of them was going to slap me if they heard me talk about “this photographer” or “that camera” or if I said “look at that light!” one more time. The other bonus in meeting photographers is swapping sessions which Jen and I decided to do. We both wanted to do in-home sessions (my favorite–have I said this enough on my blog?). I haven’t done mine yet, but we did hers earlier this summer. It was a little crazy (as always) but a lot of fun. The last few in the session were done in film. I am still too chicken to try to do an all film session. Thanks Jen. You and your kiddos are gorgeous and I can’t wait for my session (which will be more crazy I’m sure!) later this year.
Speaking of photographer friends, this weekend I am flying out to Denver to attend a Cheryl Jacobs Nicolai workshop with some amazing photographers from across the country. To say I am excited would be an understatement. I am terrified of flying, but I couldn’t miss this opportunity to see CJ in action and to meet these other amazing women.
