“A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller,
home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.”
I was an aunt before I was a mother and it made me want to be a mom. Playing with my new niece makes me want to be a new mom all over again (shhh don’t tell Jake!). My baby brother Justin (even though he is a Daddy now I will always call him my baby brother) and his wife Sarah had their first baby in January–the perfect, adorable, and easy-going Lilah . They live several hours from us and I have missed them since they moved, but now that they are parents I wish even more that we lived closer together. I love watching first time parents–it’s like I want to whisper… or yell, “See! See! I told you it was worth it!” The sleepless nights, the loss of freedom, the dirty diapers, the tantrums… everything you think is such a sacrifice. It’s nothing; it’s a spec of sand on your favorite beach. I love watching my brother and his wife dote on Lilah. They are such laid-back parents. Not a nervous nelly at all like I was. It’s like Lilah has always been here. And in a way I guess she has because we always knew she’d be here eventually. She looks just like her parents–blond and blue-eyed. And, you better believe she’ll be tall. I am so excited that I have this beautiful little baby girl to watch grow up and you know I will be there to spoil and photograph her every minute I can.
